25 dwellings and a communal building for Retired Living for the Local Tollesbury Community
We were pleased to be invited and appointed to deliver our Civil Engineering Consultancy expertise to this inspirational Retirement Living Development on the edge of Tollesbury. The commercial drive was to deliver affordable Properties for Local Residents, thus requiring cost effective design in all elements of the Scheme.
Although well protected from any Coastal Flood Risk, the site still presented drainage issues to be overcome including the diversion and improvement of an ecologically sensitive watercourse, which was also the outfall for surface water runoff. Shallow Foul Water sewers required diversion and upsizing, whilst levels were raised to retain construction arising on site and remove the need for a pumped foul water discharge to the diverted sewers.
The combination of a SUDs Attenuation Basin and permanent Feature Pond also provided both Ecological and Aesthetic benefit to the Scheme.
