Vistry Group Deal with Orbit at Westwood Point, Thanet

In Autumn 2023 the Vistry Group hit the headlines with their landmark deal with Orbit Group, at Westwood Point, Thanet and other Kent Sites.

Extending over eight Planning Phases, comprised of six Construction Phases, Withers Design Associates have been involved in The Westwood Point, Thanet scheme since Pre-acquisition Due Diligence in 2016, right through to the Construction start of the final Phase in 2024.

Comprising of circa 800 dwellings, a Care Home and Local Facilities, the Development started as a mix of Private and Affordable Housing, and Apartments, but was adapted to mostly Shared Ownership and Rental accommodation to move with the changing markets over its 8-year span.

In the Autumn of 2023, Vistry Group announced a landmark deal with Orbit transferring over 300 units to Shared Ownership and Rental, the largest proportion being the Westwood Point development.

In response to this, Withers Design Associates was asked to mobilise resources to produce all the complex conveyancing and transfer plans required for Orbit’s Solicitors and the HA’s on our live sites: Thanet Phase 3 & Phase 4, Plus Faversham & Hailsham.

Shared Ownership and Affordable Housing continue to grow in demand, and Withers Design Associates is able to support with the necessary technical plans that Housing Associations & their Solicitors require.
